How can I bring a little green ivy plant back to life?
I admit that my thumb is anything but green, and I didn't know how much I was supposed to water the plant. I just watered it once a week by putting it under the faucet for a while, but that obviously wasn't enough because it got all dried up and brittle. Do I have to take all the dead vines off for it to be healthy again? I have it hanging up in my room in this decorative plant hanger on my wall, and it gets sunlight but not directly. If I leave it out on my balcony for a while will that perk it up? Or should I just get a new plant all together? It was only like $7 at OSH.
How often am I supposed to water it, and with how much water?

Ivy's need 3 things to grow well.,bright indirect light,no full sun.That will scorch the leaves.Water,maybe the soil in your pot is the kind that drains well and does not retain enough moisture.Small amount of fertilizer but is not always necessary,if you have good soil.Water the plant well and let it sit in a pan of water for about an hour.If its that brittle the roots will take longer to get the water.If the soil gets dry when you stick your finger into the soil up to first knuckle joint its time to water.Hopefully this will revive it somewhat,it will still look raggy for a few days but should come on out and perk up.Its hard to kill an ivy.And yes take all the dead leaves off.It could be you didn't give it enough light and water at the same time.so make adjustments now.
